  • Gaston Torelli & Gri Montanaro

    Gri Montanaro

    Gri Montanaro is a professor at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM) in Buenos Aires, as well as working with the Julio Bocca Foundation and “Art in the Neighbourhoods”.

    She was a winner of the Jennifer Alexander National Scholarship and is a member of the UNSAM dance group, directed by Oscar Araiz. She has performed in various shows at the renowned Teatro Colón and the Teatros Nacional Cervantes, both in Buenos Aires.

    Gastón Torelli

    Gastón Torelli is a dancer, teacher and producer of tango over a career spanning 20 years. He has been a judge at the Mundial de Tango and the Campeonato Metropolitano de Tango since 2019. He was creator of many important events, such as Misterio Tango Festival, Pelando Variación and La Comedia Tango.

    The two of them have danced together since 2020, performing in some of the most important venues in Buenos Aires - Parakultural, Kirchner Cultural Center, the Beso milonga, Salón Marabú, La Nacional, and Abrazados al Tango Festival in the province of BA. They are currently working with some of the great tango orchestras – Romantica Milonguera, Tango Bardo, Cachivache, Chino Laborde and more.

  • Musicologist John Turci-Escobar

    John Turci-Escobar teaches music theory at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focusses on tango music and culture. He has presented at national and international conferences, published on tango topics in scholarly journals, and been interviewed by the BBC. A passionate social dancer and active DJ, John strives to bridge the gap between his academic work and the world of tango dancers. For over a decade, and to both local communities and at national tango events, John has lectured on tango music, lyrics, history, and culture.

  • Ricardo Calvo & Sandra Messina

    RICARDO CALVO

    Internationally renowned tango teacher, dancer, choreographer and show director. In 1984 he began his career in Argentina and in 1992 his international career, with more than 100 tours around the world, participating in numerous festivals and shows. A student of the history and essence of Tango, he writes articles and gives lectures all over the world. As an educator, he created a teaching method that summarizes the set of his experiences on movement.

    SANDRA MESSINA

    Teacher, Dancer and Choreographer of Argentine Tango.

    With classical and contemporary training. She is a Master Trainer in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® method and creator of the GYROKINESIS® Applications for Tango Dancers training course. She began her career at the age of 18 in Buenos Aires and later continued in France, where she settled, dedicating herself to the study of movement and teaching it. At the same time, she participates in festivals and European tours with different companies, discovering innovative projects and ideas combining contemporary dance, Tango and other arts.

    Ricardo Cardo & Sandra Messina

    They learned with the great tango masters of the 80's, and they have more than 30 years of international experience. Together since 2005, they form a dance partner in a meeting of ideas and knowledge, resulting in a particular dance style that unites traditional tango with their own original creations.

    With techniques extracted from the observation of the dance, they create a revolutionary method of integral education of Tango using a complete and efficient pedagogy, dedicated to the teaching of amateurs and the training of professionals. They share their time between Buenos Aires and Paris, spreading their art; traveling the world participating in international Festivals and Tango shows. In Buenos Aires and abroad they are considered as one of the leading tango couples and have been awarded as ambassadors of the genre. They participate every year as teachers in the CITA International Festival of Buenos Aires.
